This is the second installment of my “3 Bounds, 1 Article of Clothing” series, and today I’m showcasing how a simple red dress can be used in three different outfits.
Because bounding is meant to be fun, not something that costs a fortune.

Sorcerer Mickey Bound:

Red dress
Light blue bow barrette
Navy bow barrette clipped on the dress
Blue wristband
Gold chain belt
White socks
&
White shoes

I’ve worn this bound to dinner on the Disney Magic and to Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Both times I’ve felt great in the bound. I LOVE seeing characters react to the outfit, and it worked well for a park day in the hot Florida weather.

Captain Hook Bound:

Red dress
White lace blouse
Pink knee-length tights
White with black detailed socks
Red headband with a silver feather pin
Silver bracelet
&
Black shoes

This bound was one that I was nervous to try. With Hook’s over-the-top style of a giant feather in his hat, pink tights, and frilly shirt, I was cautious when building the bound; I wanted to find a balance between paying homage to the character’s style without feeling foolish. The silver feather pin on my headband, instead of a giant feather, and a lace top rather than a frilly neckline achieved the balance I was looking for and made for a fun Pirate night on the Disney Destiny.

&
Superhero Minnie Bound:

Red bow
Red dress with gold trim*
Blue cardigan
Brown belt
Blue and gold bangles
Blue socks
&
Red shoes
*The gold trim at the bottom of the dress are self-adhesive foam sheets that I cut into the needed design. A big “Thank You” to @SpiritdaySarah for her suggestion of self-adhesive foam to complete the bound. If you’re not already following her on Instagram, you should be!

This bound made me feel like I could leap over tall buildings, fly around the earth, and have superhuman strength! The bright blue bangles constantly moving on my arms and the pop of gold trim on the dress added constant sparkle and the confidence to strike my best superhero pose.

There you have it: with one red dress and a little creativity, three different character bounds happened. You don’t need a whole new wardrobe for every bound; sometimes the right accessories and a little imagination can help you discover the magic that’s already hanging in your closet.

Happy bounding!
